Dana Corp. said Friday it received an order from Toyota Motor Corp. for 1 million cylinder liners a year, becoming one of the first U.S. companies to provide a Japanese automaker with engine parts.

Toledo-based Dana declined to reveal how much the order is worth. The liners will be made by Dana’s Perfect Circle unit in Richmond, Ind., which makes piston rings, camshafts and cylinder liners.

The liners will be used in Toyota’s 3-liter, V-6 engines.
