Harold Stein, president and founder of the Harold Stein Fuel Co., died Friday in Northwestern Memorial Hospital. A resident of Chicago’s Near North Side, Mr. Stein, 92, was known as “Big H.” and was active in his Chicago fuel business until his death. “He was just a treasure,” said his daughter, Arleen Blatt. “He was the most intelligent person. We had to work really hard to keep up with him and we couldn’t.” Mr. Stein was a longtime member of the Standard Club in Chicago. In addition to his daughter, Mr. Stein is survived by three grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Congregation Am Shalom, 840 Vernon Ave., in Glencoe.
