I have no doubt that Douglas Kmiec is going to receive a substantial amount of negative reaction to his column concerning Ellen, gay behavior and the need for counseling rather than glamorization of the lifestyle. Speaking the hard truth often sparks that kind of reaction from those who don’t want to hear it.
While many in the media have been praising Ellen for her “courage,” the real courage in this sorry episode is that shown by those such as Mr. Kmiec who are willing to stand up and speak the truth and take the heat that inevitably will come.
