Reader Mark Sokolowski (Voice, April 30) complains that television recently devoted 30 minutes to “demeaning Polish-Americans” without a raised eyebrow from the “rainbow-type organizations.” At the same time, he said, Fuzzy Zoeller “makes a one-sentence remark about racially mixed Tiger Woods, and he loses his reputation as a fun-loving goodwill ambassador for golf.”
The way Sokolowski views it, the media decide bigotry is news only when “certain ethnic groups” are demeaned.
Sokolowski asks, “Who makes that decision. . . .”?
Answer: White males.
