Without going through all the hyperbole Sam Smith used to excoriate the Boston Celtics and Rick Pitino (Tribune, May 9) . . . yes, it’s worth getting Mr. Pitino and whatever else is necessary to restore the greatness of the Boston Celtics organization.
Pitino is a proven coach who, at 36 and in his second year in the NBA, took the New York Knicks to a division title. There are several coaches with many years of NBA experience who have yet to do that.
Rick Pitino is an outstanding coach, a winner who can win on any level.
