After more than a year, the schism between the Indy Racing League (IRL) and Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART) has continued, and the rival leagues again will have competing races this Memorial Day weekend. On Saturday, CART will hold the Motorola 300, the inaugural race at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Ill. On Sunday, the IRL will race in the 82nd edition of the Indianapolis 500 with all new cars and engines and a wide field of drivers from nine nations.
