A survey of full-time workers between the ages of 18 and 49 in all types of construction found about 14.4 percent abuse illicit drugs. The rate for construction workers was behind that of food preparation, waiters, waitresses and bartenders (16.5 percent) and writers, artists, photographers, entertainers and athletes. (15.7 percent).
