St. Louis-based May Department Stores Co. will add nearly 100 stores and remodel or expand another 100 as part of a $3.4 billion investment plan over five years. May will open nine stores by year’s end–three Lord & Taylors, one Strawbridge’s, two Foley’s and three Filene’s. May has 366 stores.
