The proposed Boul Mich pylons are a bit of frivolity that would diminish rather than enhance their intended setting. The magnificent view of Michigan Avenue north from the bridge would be blighted by this clutter. I’m sure that the citizens of Chicago would be grateful if the money were spent on something useful, such as making the CTA more user-friendly (which might even increase ridership) or repairing some of our cratered streets, rather than being wasted on these oversized faux-art traffic hazards.
