Every summer there are several drownings or near-drownings of small children in swimming pools. In many cases the lifeguards are unable to see a body at the bottom of the pool due to the number of swimmers on top.

Surveillance has become a billion-dollar industry in the private and commercial sectors. Why couldn’t a camera be positioned at either end of swimming pools underwater to scan the bottom of the pool–with a screen at the lifeguard station?

Stores watch shoppers, and bosses spy on employees. Why not put this knowledge and know-how to work saving lives instead of only money?
