Favorite performer: Burt Lancaster. He was one of my inspirations for Sinbad. In “Crimson Pirate,” he had such a sense of fun. I think about him when I’m sword-fighting my way across a palace.
Favorite childhood memory: Surfing with my father. My mother is the actress Nan Martin, and she was always away doing films and theater. I spent a lot of time with my father. He’s a surfer, and when I had problems, we’d go surfing and watch the sun set. We did some serious bonding.
Prized possession: The ability to laugh.
Nobody knows I’m: A trumpet player.
If I could do it over: I would have tried to experience more when I was younger.
The one thing I can’t stand: Vanity.
I’d give anything to meet: Sir Laurence Olivier. He was an amazing man and had a very incredible career. I’d love to know what he was like in person.
People who knew me in high school: Thought I was a band geek. I was the drum major of the marching band.
The worst time in my life: I’ve had to deal with some family illnesses.
