The Lake in the Hills Village Board is considering spending $269,000 to install a new computer system linking Village Hall, Police and Public Works Departments. The system’s estimated annual maintenance cost would be $19,300.
Garry Vaccaro, of Vaccaro Consulting, told the Committee of the Whole Tuesday night that the village’s existing computer system needs updating.
He reported that during a nine-month study, his firm contacted and evaluated 16 vendors of computer systems. His recommendation to the board is a company called Pentamation.
The board will vote Thursday on whether to continue its contract with Vaccaro and allow him to begin negotiations for a major computer overhaul project.
