Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
My reaction to the article (Main news, July 3) on the State of Illinois lowering the drinking and driving limit from .10 percent to .08 percent of blood-alcohol content went from enthusiastically positive to utter dismay as I looked up my “drink limit” on the chart, and discovered that the Tribune says I can drink a six-pack of beer in an hour and still drive.
Incredible. Knowing my own limits, I don’t think I could even walk after downing six drinks in an hour. What happened to the old one-drink-per-hour rule of thumb? The chart must be a mistake. My worst fear is that your article will actually encourage some people to drink more, not less.
