Earthgrains Co. agreed to buy wholesale baker CooperSmith Inc., as the bakery industry continues to consolidate. Terms were not disclosed. St. Louis-based Earthgrains, once a unit of Anheuser-Busch Cos., paid cash for Atlanta-based CooperSmith, which operates wholesale bakeries mostly in the Southeast. In December, Earthgrains bought Heiner’s Baker Inc., of Huntington, W.Va., for $38.5 million.
