I found the article about Downstate lottery winner Loyd Elam refreshingly upbeat (“Lottery winner hits grand slam with kids/Downstater treats 34 to Wrigley outing,” MetroChicago, July 23).
I found it so inspiring I even handed it to my 10-year-old daughter, who promptly read it over breakfast. She appreciated it, too, and I was happy she had something about “real life” to start her day in a positive way.
