IF YOUR DOG OR CAT HAS A GREAT SINGING VOICE, this is a chance at his or her 15 minutes of fame. No, this isn’t Stupid Pet Tricks, but the Advantage Search for America’s Best Singing Pet Contest by Bayer Corp. Bring along your pet’s tape or CD, or if Kitty or Fido can harmonize with just about anything, Advantage will have tunes available. Registration is 10 a.m. Saturday followed by videotaping of the pets’ performances at 11 a.m. outdoors at Grove 14 on Recreation Drive between Addison Street and Irving Park Road off Lake Shore Drive (near the totem pole). Look for a giant inflatable flea! When the contest is over, 10 nationwide semifinalists and their owners will be flown to New York for the final competition. Top dog (or cat) will get a free recording session and appear in an Advantage print advertisement or poster. If it’s really raining cats and dogs, the contest will move to Sunday. Or you can send in a videotape to: Advantage Search for America’s Best Singing Pet Contest, 200 E. Randolph Drive, 63rd Floor, Chicago, Ill. 60601. 312-240-2697.
