Former Chicago lawyer and politician George Munoz has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate to become president and chief executive of the federal Overseas Private Investment Corp., a self-sustaining agency that provides and insures financing for foreign projects. Munoz, who has been an assistant secretary of the Treasury Department, had been president of the Chicago Board of Education.
