Virginia M. Rowan, 81, a longtime resident of the Beverly neighborhood, died at her home Tuesday. Mrs. Rowan was born and raised on the South Side and attended Hirsch High School. She was a homemaker and raised nine children. In 1968, she moved with her family to the Beverly neighborhood. Survivors include her husband, Thomas B., a retired Chicago Police Department lieutenant; six sons, William, Thomas, Michael, David, Richard and Robert; two daughters, Marjorie Hamilton and Virginia; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 8:45 a.m. Saturday at the Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd St., Oak Lawn. Mass will be said at St. Barnabas Church, 10134 S. Longwood Drive, Chicago.
