Bob Greene hit the spot with “Warm welcomes, tears of goodbye” (Tempo, July 28). I particularly can relate to the part about children at airports saying goodbye to a mom or dad.
I am a father who recently had to say good-bye to my teary-eyed 7-year-old as he returned to Florida after a month with me. Not many things are more emotionally wrenching then dividing time like this for a child. It is an unfortunate result of today’s divorce rate, but a reality. Bob Greene, once again, has demon-strated his fantastic knack for making us look at ourselves without being offensive or preachy. Way to go, Bob!
