The latest cocktail party game, on display one recent and relatively dull night in the high-rise apartment of a television news reporter: “Can you name Chicago’s sister cities?”

If you are ever asked, here they are, in alphabetical order: Accra, Ghana (1989); Birmingham, England (1993); Casablanca, Morocco (1982); Gteborg, Sweden (1987); Hamburg, Germany (1994); Kyyiv, Ukraine (1991); Milan, Italy (1973); Moscow, Russia (1997); Osaka, Japan (1973); Paris, France (1996); Petah Tiqwa, Israel (1994); Prague, Czech Republic (1990); Shenyang, China (1985), Toronto, Canada (1991) and Warsaw, Poland (1960).

We also have what are called “friendship” relationships with a few cities, but let’s leave those for another day, another party.
