Arthur W. Smith, 87, of Harvard, died Sunday in his home. He was born in LeRoy Township and farmed in McHenry and Boone Counties until his retirement in 1980. Mr. Smith was a member of First United Methodist Church in Harvard. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rachel M.; two daughters, Myrna Barber and Iona Wakeley; seven grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Saunders and McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard. Services for Mr. Smith will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
