Dayton Hudson Corp. said it will close its Marshall Field’s store in downtown Milwaukee on Sept. 6, after failing to reach a sale-leaseback deal for the building that would have allowed its renovation. Linda Ahlers, president of Minneapolis-based Dayton Hudson’s department-store division, said the store’s 200 employees will be offered severance and can apply for jobs in the Milwaukee area at its Field’s store in the Mayfair Mall and Target stores.
