John H. Moran, 74, of Highland Park, a retired upholsterer, died Saturday while vacationing in Texas. Mr. Moran was a lifelong resident of Highland Park, who retired after 47 years with H.M. Bernard Interiors in Highland Park. He also taught the craft during evening courses, recalled his son, Joe. “He was a gentleman who enjoyed his work. He would be the craftsman working in solitude with the piece of furniture,” the son said. Other survivors include his wife, Marilyn; four other sons, John, Mike, Jerry and Jim; two daughters, Mary White and Jeanne; 18 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two brothers.Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday in Immaculate Conception Church, 1590 Green Bay Rd., Highland Park.
