Richard G. Stier, 81, died Tuesday in Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. A resident of Schaumburg, Mr. Stier was a retired employee of Commonwealth Edison and an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Florence; a son, Glenn; a daughter, Karen DiMaggio; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Algrim & Sons Funeral Home, 330 W. Golf Rd., Schaumburg. A mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1001 E. Schaumburg Rd., Schaumburg.
