Checkmate Custom Homes Inc. has opened a display model at Wallin Woods in Plainfield, a Macom Corp. community planned for 218 single-family homes to be built by a variety of selected builders.

The new 3,000-square-foot two-story model offers four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and a two-car garage. It is priced at $267,000, including lot. Features include a great room with 18-foot ceiling and fireplace, a bay window in the dining room, and kitchen with center island, breakfast nook, and pantry.

The model is located at 15203 Hamlin St. in Wallin Woods.

– Three decorated models are for sale at the Townhomes of Whispering Lake in north suburban Lake Bluff as the 20-acre community of 84 townhouses approaches closeout.

One of the three models is the (tilde) 3/41,272-square-foot Teal design with two bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, eat-in kitchen, deck, 696-square-foot basement, and two-car garage. It is priced at $187,900.

The Mallard model offers 1,464 square feet with two bedrooms and a loft, 2 1/2 baths, kitchen with breakfast area, deck, basement with 754 square feet and two-car garage. It is priced at $195,900.

The Drake model features 1,690 square feet plus an 816-square-foot basement. It includes a two-story living room, den, loft and rear deck and is priced at $227,900.

Seven inventory homes, priced from $151,860 to $180,514, also remain for sale. They are available for 30- to 45-day delivery and buyers are still able to choose interior finishes.

The developer is also offering up to $10,000 in free upgrades on these remaining homes.

The community has an outdoor swimming pool and clubhouse with kitchen, bar, banquet rooms, sauna and locker room.

The Townhomes of Whispering Lake is on the east side of Illinois Highway 43 (Waukegan Road), 1 1/2 miles north of Illinois Highway 176 in Lake Bluff.

– Brittany Homes & Developments Inc. has four new display models open at Sierra Woods, a townhouse community in northwest suburban Carpentersville.

The models represent four of six floor plans, which offer 1,250 to 1,725 square feet with two or three bedrooms and 1 1/2 or two baths. Prices range from $111,900 to $134,900 for the 107 two-story townhouses.

With two bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths, the 1,428-square-foot Aztec is a two-story design with two walk-in closets in the master bedroom, a walk-in closet in the second bedroom, and an attached two-car garage. A loft, third bedroom, second full bath, and super bath are optional.

To reach Sierra Woods’ four decorated models, open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, take Interstate Highway 90 to Randall Road. Drive north on Randall Road two miles to the development’s entrance on the right.

– Two decorated models are set to open mid-August at Citadel On The Rock Run, an enclave of 52 townhouses in 13 buildings. The development adjoins a nature preserve area on the west side of Joliet in southwest suburban Will County.

The two models–the Larkspur and Aster–are being designed by Hinsdale-based Donna Michelle Interiors.

The two-story Larkspur is priced from $121,900 and has 1,512 square feet with two bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and an attached two-car garage.

The one-story Aster model has 1,535 square feet and is priced from $120,900. It includes two bedrooms, two baths, two-car attached garage, and a breakfast room with access to the deck.

Citadel On The Rock Run’s floor plans are priced from $111,900 to $150,000. They range from 1,294 to 1,689 square feet and feature two or three bedrooms and 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 baths.

Monthly association fees range from $70 to $80.

Standard features include nine-foot first-floor ceilings, ceramic entries, volume ceilings and two-story foyers per plan, and wood decks or patios per plan,

Adjoining the banks of Rock Run Creek, the 20-acre community has been certified as a “Backyard Wildlife Habitat” by the National Wildlife Federation with over half of the site dedicated to open space and nature preserve areas of the Rock Run valley.
