Belated kudos to your John Kass for his June 19 column (Metro) describing the frightened manner of Cub fans as they left Comiskey Park after one of the recent interleague contests between the Cubs and Sox. His description of them scampering “like frenzied little meerkats” to “their ugly Swedish and German cars” and fleeing back to their North Side and suburban enclaves was hilarious.

On July 15, Paul Sullivan also hit a grand slam with his description of the Wrigley Field “bleacher bums.” For years, I have said they would be more at home at a beach party. No. 1 of Sullivan’s 10 observations was, “The concrete beach is totally out of control.” I also agree with his suggested slogan of “Idiots ’97.”
