The Midwest Buddhist Temple will hold its annual Ginza Holiday, a Japanese cultural festival, Friday through Aug. 17 at 435 W. Menomonee St. in Old Town.
Japanese crafters will demonstrate their skills in pottery, tapestry, calligraphy and embroidery–and the fruits of their labor will be for sale. Festival-goers will be entertained with music, dance and self-defense demonstrations. There will be a variety of Japanese dishes.
Admission is $3.50 for adults, $3 for seniors. Children younger than 12 will be admitted free with an adult. Hours are 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 17. Call 312-943-7801.
