It’s older than Marshall Field’s and the historic Water Tower. It’s not as old as the Tribune, but not much is. What is it?
It’s the city’s oldest museum, the Chicago Academy of Sciences, which turns 140 on Sunday with free festivities from 1 to 4 p.m. in Lincoln Park at Fullerton Parkway and Stockton Drive.
The Jesse White Tumblers will be there, as will a Chicago Fire Department engine and crew.
Take a hard-hat tour of the academy’s new Nature Museum, under construction, and enjoy some ice cream and cheesecake.
