Michael C. Meier, 24, of Spring Grove, died Saturday from injuries he sustained in a truck accident in Johnsburg. He was a 1991 graduate of Grant Community High School in Fox Lake, where he was a member of the football and baseball teams. He attended the College of Lake County in Grayslake, Forest Park Community College in St. Louis and Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville. He was also a member of the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps at Southern Illinois University. He was a member of the Twin Lakes, Wis., Volunteer Fire Department and the Teamsters Union. He was also a member of St. Bede Catholic Church in Ingleside. His survivors include his father and stepmother, Kerry C. and Leslie Meier; his mother and stepfather, Melinda A. and Nat Fiordimondo; his fiance, Nicole Trinski; and his sister, Shannon. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. Mass will be said at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bede Catholic Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside.
