Fred Golonka, 70, died Tuesday in Alexian Brothers Hospice in Elk Grove Village. Originally from Poland, Mr. Golonka was a resident of Streamwood and a former resident of Itasca. He worked as a car inspector for a railroad company. Survivors include his wife, Harriet; two sons, Henry and James; a daughter, Mary Ann O’Donnell; a sister; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in The Oaks Funeral Home, 1201 E. Irving Park Rd., Itasca. Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, 254 N. Wooddale Rd., Wood Dale.
