The Roselle Park Board approved two contracts Wednesday night for the construction of two park playgrounds in the village.
The firm of Elkin & Vick of Schaumburg was awarded a contract for $3,600 to act as architect and general contractor for the playgrounds.
Park and Recreation Supply Inc. of Geneva was awarded a contract not to exceed $25,000 for playground equipment for the two new parks.
One of the sites is on a parcel that the board accepted from Pasquinelli Builders last month. Located at Merriford Lane and Britannia Way, the parcel is less than an acre big and has yet to be named, although board members did discuss some options.
The other site is Odlum Park, which takes in several acres, said park director Diane McCray.
A grass field already has been created at Odlum Park, but the major improvement will be a baseball field. The new play area at Odlum would be developed in addition to the already established field, McCray said.
