Chicago music fans can catch a local version of the Seattle grunge documentary “Hype!” when Scott Peterson’s “Out of the Loop” has its world premiere at the Chicago Underground Film Festival at 7:15 p.m. Saturday. Peterson interviews local critics, club owners, producers and band members (from Jesus Lizard, Eleventh Dream Day, The Pulsars, Seam, Triple Fast Action, The Wesley Willis Fiasco and Yum Yum) to explore the concept of the “hot music town” and why Chicago was it for a few bright shining moments a few years back. Opening for “Out of the Loop” will be a short about cover bands called “An Incredible Simulation (the trailer).” Both films screen in the video theater of the Theatre Building, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. For the $6 tickets, call 773-327-5252 or 773-342-0910.
