The last 12 lots at Newell’s Reserve in Lake Forest will be offered at auction at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at the Sheraton North Shore Hotel in Northbrook.
Five of the 12 lots, originally priced from $400,000 to $665,000, will be auctioned with miniumum bids of $225,000 and $325,000.
Lots can be viewed from 1 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 16 and 24 and Sept. 6 and 14, or from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 10 and 17.
The 26-acre development of 26 homes is located just west of Waukegan and Deerpath Roads in Lake Forest. It bisects a 60-acre nature conservation area and 521 acres of Lake County forest preserve.

– Preconstruction sales are under way at The Sewing Exchange, a development of 26 lofts, 11 townhouses, and four flats at 1830 S. Michigan Ave. on Chicago’s Near South Side. It is a joint effort by Joseph Freed Homes and Centrum Properties Inc.
A three-story brick and timber building is being revamped into lofts, while the townhouses and flats will be new construction.
Loft floor plans range from 600-square-foot studios priced from $97,900 to $103,900, to 1,462-square-foot units with two bedrooms, a den and two baths, priced from $219,900. Each unit will include a balcony.
Townhouses are all one-bedroom plans with 1 1/2 or two baths and dens or studies. The 1,475- to 2,000-square-foot designs feature a deck off the living area plus a rooftop deck and brick facade. They are priced from $184,900 to $265,900.
