Laverne C. Hackman, 79, of Crystal Lake, died Wednesday at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry. He was a welder for Matthews Co. in Crystal Lake, retiring after 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Irene; a son, Larry; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister; and two brothers. Visitation will be from 9:30 until the 11:30 a.m. funeral Saturday in Windridge Funeral Home, 104 High Rd., Cary.
