A nude dancer at The Splash Club was arrested for alleged prostitution after she offered to perform a sex act on two undercover officers, authorities said.
Lisa Rossi, 33, of 546 Shagbark Lane, Streamwood, was arrested last week on a warrant for alleged prostitution filed by the McHenry County state’s attorney’s office. She is accused of asking for $20 to perform a sex act on a McHenry County sheriff’s officer who was working undercover in the club July 5.
Since opening in Burtons Bridge in June, The Splash Club has been the target of numerous neighbors and county officials, who have tried to shut down the Las Vegas-style adult club. Because food or alcohol is not served at the club, it escapes local zoning laws that are often used to keep such establishments out of residential areas.
Undercover sheriff’s deputies have been infiltrating the club to ensure there were no illicit activities, said McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren. However, Nygren said, “there is no evidence the owners condoned, participated or were even aware of what this woman had engaged in.”
Nygren said Rossi had danced at the club about six times since it opened.
