Buffalo Grove police are investigating an armed robbery at a local currency exchange as it was opening Friday morning.

The incident occurred at about 8:15 a.m., according to Buffalo Grove Police Officer Jeff Riedel, when a female employee of a currency exchange at 1405 W. Dundee Rd. was unlocking the front door. A man with a gun approached her from behind, followed her into the store and demanded money. The employee handed over an undetermined amount of cash, and the man fled from the shop on foot.

The man is described as white, about 6 feet tall, between 25 and 35 years of age, wearing a baseball cap and a long shirt.
