In response to the letter from Elizabeth Connolly on the lack of coverage of the Women’s National Basketball Association (Voice, July 26):
Not only does the WNBA not get media coverage in the Chicago area but women’s sports coverage is virtually non-existent. You can at least find some scores of women’s sports in the Tribune, but the TV stations are the worst. I have written letters to all the stations in the Chicago area and received a response from only one (WBBM-Ch. 2), but I have not seen any difference in coverage of women’s sports.
When will Chicago sports reporters realize that women play sports and watch sports and want to hear about women’s sports. Don’t they have wives, daughters and sisters and, yes, even mothers?
