Orrin M. Karp, 88, died Friday in his home in West Chicago. A lifelong resident of the suburb, Mr. Karp was the former co-owner of Markl Dairy in West Chicago, where he worked from 1946 to 1968. He later drove a school bus in West Chicago from 1970 to 1976. The West Chicago Park District named him senior citizen VIP of the year for service in the community in 1975. He was a past president of the Senior Citizens Council of West Chicago and drove for Meals on Wheels for over 20 years. Mr. Karp was also active in St. Mary’s Church as a member of the senior choir and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mable; three daughters, Marilyn Earley, Jane Broy and Lois Minick; two sons, Robert and Roy; 21 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary’s Church, Oakwood Avenue and York Street, West Chicago.
