Roko “Roy” Abramovich, 88, died Friday, his birthday, in his home in Crete. A native of Eureka, Utah, he moved to Yugoslavia as a child and came back to the United States as a teenager. He had lived in Crete about a year and previously had lived on Chicago’s Southeast Side since the 1950s. Mr. Abramovich worked at Wisconsin Steel in Chicago for 40 years, retiring at age 65. Prominent in the Croatian community, he was a member of the Croatian Hall of Fame. Survivors include two daughters, Anne Marie Victor and Marlene O’Connor; a brother; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Drumm Funeral Home, 1200 E. 162nd St., South Holland, and Mass will be said at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 2906 E. 96th St., Chicago.
