I heard that the Disney Co. is planning to build a theme park based upon “virtual reality” somewhere in the downtown Chicago area.

The planners at Disney may not realize it, but some of the pieces are already in place, as it were. We already have a virtual City Council, a virtual public school system, virtual public transportation, two virtual major league baseball teams with at least one virtual owner. We even have a virtual professional football team playing in a virtual stadium.

I have always thought of Chicago as a type of theme park anyway, having been taken for a ride on a number of occasions. When construction on the real park begins, it appears that the Disney Co. isn’t going to have to do much work.
