Henry D. Paschen and Maria Tallchief Paschen of Chicago announce the marriage of their daughter, Elise M. Paschen to Stuart Brainerd, son of Andrew Brainerd of Chicago and Jean. W. Brainerd of Winnetka.
The bride is a graduate of Harvard and received a doctorate in philosophy from Magdalen College at Oxford University. She is the executive director of the Poetry Society of America in New York.
The bride’s father is past president and chairman of Paschen Contractors, Inc., in Chicago. Her mother, a prima ballerina, helped found the New York City Ballet.
The groom is a graduate of Stanford University and owner of Synapse computer company in Chicago. His father is a partner with Baker & McKenzie in Chicago. His mother is a trustee for Vandercook College of Music in Chicago.
