Thanks to the Tribune for the article about Phoolan Devi (“India’s `Bandit Queen’ now a crusading angel,” Main news, Aug. 10). Women like her can make great changes for women’s rights. Devi is a very determined and strong woman who stands up for herself and can teach other women to stand up for themselves. Phoolan Devi can make a great difference in India for women who are brutalized by their husbands and are raped.
