I want to commend your thorough reporting and outstanding photographic coverage of the Sierre Leone evacuation (Main news). The U.S. Marine unit pictured on the front page was my nephew’s unit.
I mailed the Tribune’s coverage to my sister, whose area newspaper in Florida did not report on this incident. She mailed the articles to my nephew aboard ship, who then passed them on to the Marine whose photo is in front. He in turn then mailed the clippings to his mother in Louisiana.
You have helped to make many Marines and their parents very proud.
