Does anyone really believe there was a victory in the UPS strike? In the long run the public will pay, and jobs will be lost.
Raises in different categories, varying from $1.50 to $23 per hour over the five-year contract period, will mean that in the future you and I will be paying more to have our packages delivered.
And being forced to create 10,000 full-time jobs and create another 10,000 new full-time jobs by combining part-time positions (not to mention the alleged $650 million UPS claims to have lost) will result in one thing. Sooner or later “downsizing” will set in.
