George Valentine, 74, of Geneva, a former chairman of a birdseed company, died Thursday when he was struck by a train in Geneva. A native of Brookings, S.D., Mr. Valentine moved to Geneva in 1950. He was the former chairman of Seaboard Seed Co. in Bristol, southwest of Aurora. Survivors include his wife, Janet; a son, Christopher; a daughter, Anne Martino; two step-daughters, Alison Sauce and Jane Vadala; a brother; and 10 grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 4th Avenue and Franklin Street, Geneva.
