Ruth L. Cherry, an elementary and high school teacher in the western suburbs for 36 years, died Thursday in her St. Charles home. Before moving to St. Charles, she lived for 38 years in North Riverside where she taught at Komarek Elementary School. She had also taught at Morton East High School in Cicero. Mrs. Cherry attended Illinois State University, Northwestern University and Wheaton College. She is survived by a son, Robert; two grandchildren; and a sister. Private memorial services were held Saturday in the Norris Funeral Home in St. Charles.
