John Hickey, 56, of Chicago, died Saturday at his home. Mr. Hickey was a native of Chicago and most recently lived in Rogers Park. He worked for the Chicago Public Schools as a custodian for nearly 30 years, and spent the last 15 years working at Senn High School, according to his daughter, Maureen Smaida. Mr. Hickey enjoyed taking his grandchildren on excursions to the zoo and to Wisconsin, where he spent many weekends, his daughter said. Other survivors include his wife, Mary; a son, Michael; another daughter, Kathleen; seven grandchildren; and a brother. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Gertrude Church, 6200 N. Glenwood Ave.
