Edward A. Settle Sr., 74, of McHenry, died Friday in Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II, when he was a prisoner of war in Germany, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in McHenry and the McHenry Kiwanis. He worked as a manufacturing representative of graphic arts in the family business, Ed Settle and Company of Crystal Lake. He is survived by his wife, Marelda; one son, David; his daughter, Lisa Floden; two grandchildren; and his sister, Elizabeth Elmore. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service Wednesday in First United Methodist Church, 3717 W. Main St., McHenry.
