Jean Burkhalter, 80, a longtime resident of Lake Forest, died Aug. 25 at Lake Forest Hospital in Lake Forest. Mrs. Burkhalter was born in Cambridge, Ohio, and later lived in Zanesville, Ohio. For the last 27 years she lived in Lake Forest. She was a longtime member of the Deerpath Garden Club in Lake Forest. Survivors include her husband, Samuel Burkhalter; two sons, Alan and Douglas Wood; a daughter, Judith Lindenau; and five grandchildren. Services will be private.
