Charles E. LaMendola, 77, of Elk Grove Village and formerly a resident of Bellwood for 38 years, died Monday in Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. Born in Detroit, Mr. LaMendola was an assembly line foreman for an auto parts factory. He also was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Wisconsin. For the last three years, he worked at the Eagle grocery in Elk Grove Village. Survivors include his wife, Minnie; a daughter, Patricia Rosy; a brother; and two grandchildren. Mass will be said at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 524 N. Rush St., Itasca.
